What is Feedback Triage?

Feedback triage is the recurring practice of reviewing new submissions and deciding what each one is and what happens next — fix now, cluster with duplicates, promote for validation, or decline. It is to feedback what inbox-zero is to email.

Feedback triage, in depth

Triage fails when it requires investigation. If every item demands guessing what the user meant and where they were, the queue outruns the will to process it. Structure at capture — user-chosen categories, automatic page context — converts triage from detective work into a series of quick decisions.

The other failure is aspiration: triaging daily is a resolution, triaging weekly is a habit. A 30-minute weekly session with honest statuses beats a daily intention that dies in week three. Volume determines cadence; small products genuinely need less than an hour a week.

Putting it into practice

Batch it, timebox it, and end each session at inbox zero — “declined” and “someday” are legitimate zeroes. TellTide’s filters (type, app, status, date) are built for this session, and promotion to the roadmap is the natural exit for the requests worth validating.
